ABOUT

Join us on this easy accessible, but stunning nature hike, which will take us through the beautiful valley of Bjørndalen. We will start our tour at 09:30 am, where your guide will pick you up at your accommodation. From here we will drive along the coastline towards Vestpynten, where we will leave our car behind and we will start our walk through the valley.
Bjørndalen is known for its rich flora and fauna and it is thé place near town to have a chance to spot Arctic wildlife such as the Arctic fox, Svalbard reindeer and Arctic birds in the summer. Along the way your guide will tell you more about the beautiful flora and fauna and the rich history of Svalbard. We will make sure to stop for warm drinks and sweets, and also to take some great photos. When it is time to drive back to town, we will make sure to be on the lookout for belugas along the coastline where we will enjoy our warm lunch!

WHAT TO BRING

We recommend you to bring: Sturdy waterproof hiking boots (above the ankle), (soft shell) hiking pants, shell pants and jacket (wind and waterproof), base layers, warm hiking socks, insulating mid-layer, warm hat (like a beanie), warm mittens/ gloves, comfortable day pack and a filled water bottle. If you can, choose woolen materials closest to your body.

  • Although our activity is focussed on wildlife, their presence can never be guaranteed.

  • If we need to adjust our planned route due to safety reasons, we hold the right to do so.

  • ​​​​​​There is no reimbursement if we need to.

  • We reserve the right to refuse you joining our activity, if you fail to be well prepared clothing-wise, according to our “What to bring” section.
